Friends of Quex
The Friends of Quex offers the opportunity of a closer connection with the Powell-Cotton Museum and raises funds to support the work of the Museum. Volunteers from amongst the Friends can assist in many aspects of the daily life of the Museum.
A programme of talks and visits throughout the year provides Friends with more information about the collections and ongoing work of the Museum and other subjects of interest. Quiz nights and a summer barbecue are pleasant social occasions. A newsletter is published three times a year.
The Friends of Quex was set up in 1984. As the Museum receives no public or government money, the funds raised by the Friends have been a valuable contribution. They have paid for a wide range of items including three young peahens to grace the gardens, the re-upholstery of gallery seating, photographic equipment and a TV/DVD for use in exhibitions. Most recently they have made a significant contribution to the new introductory exhibition.
Members of the Friends enjoy free admission to the Powell-Cotton Museum, House & Gardens in return for their valued support.
